The IUCN red list considers the lace monitor to be a least concern species.  

This animal can visit your location for a presentation.

This animal is used for Wilbur’s Wildlife event displays. 

Our Animals

 

Wilbur’s Wildlife became home to a lace monitor in late 2018. At present we are home to a juvenile which we call Merlin. He has quickly taken to being around people and begun appearing in our wildlife presentations and at events. He is growing quickly and loves to eat mouse and chicken.

Quick Facts

 

Adult lace monitors can reach lengths of up to 2 metres making them Australia’s second largest lizard after the perentie.
