Bush Stone Curlew

Conservation Status

 

The IUCN red list considers the bush stone curlew to be a least concern species. Their population is decreasing though as a result of increasing threats. 

This animal can not visit your location for a presentation.

This animal is not used for Wilbur’s Wildlife event displays. 

This animal is on show during private zoo tours.

Our Animals


Wilbur’s Wildlife welcomed our first bush stone curlew in November 2018. Named Louis our curlew has quickly settled in to the large aviary which he shares with our Tawny Frogmouth Otis. He is taking well to training and will eventually become part of our presentation team.

This species is also known as the bush thick knee.
